To celebrate this special day, they chose a cake designed by an 89 year old artist, Wayne Thiebaud, famous for his paintings and drawings of cakes and other food items. In 1996, Google co-founders – Larry Page and Sergey Brin, then Stanford graduation students had started working on BackRub, which later become Google .
